The Institute of Commerce and Services (INEMY) is the official scientific branch of ESEE.

We are staffed with distinguished scientists. INEMY studies and analyzes in-depth the developments of the trade sector and small and medium enterprises, making a pivotal contribution to the formation and scientific documentation of ESEE’s positions and proposals.

Among the main purposes it fulfills, INEMY:

  • It constantly captures the state of commerce, services, and the tertiary sector.

  • It proposes new ideas for dealing with the area’s problems, making use of international experience taking into account the modern Greek reality.

  • Scientifically documents the positions and proposals of ESEE.

  • It equips ESEE members and organizations with facts and arguments.

  • It analyzes economic and social developments and estimates how they may affect Greek trade.

  • It contributes creatively to the debate on trade, social cohesion, and economic development.

Basic Structures of INEMY:

Editing and publication of the ANNUAL REPORT OF GREEK TRADE.

Since 2000, the Annual Trade Report has been established as the annual scientific record of the industry and its problems.

GEOBASI – The “living” footprint of the trade.

INEMY, in collaboration with the National Technical University of Athens, has created “GEOBASI,” a system of direct recording and electronic display of trade. “GEOBASI” allows the correlation of spatial variables and infrastructures with work’s sectoral and functional characteristics.

TRADE & ENTREPRENEURSHIP RECORDS – The history of Greek trade

INEMY collects, records, and studies archival collections of merchants and trade associations to save the commercial & business history of the country.

Training & Education

The Center for the Development of Hellenic Commerce and Entrepreneurship (KAELE) is the educational and development branch of ESEE.

It is active in continuing vocational training, adult education, professional counseling for individuals and businesses, etc.

  • KAELE has been certified by EOPPEP as a Level 2 Lifelong Learning Center, with headquarters in Athens and certified structures (Branches) in Thessaloniki, Alexandroupoli, Trikala, and Patras and offices in Livadia and Rhodes. At the same time, it is also a recognized examination center for certification of knowledge and skills PC.

  • Since its establishment in 1995, it has implemented several actions. It has practically linked its activity with the design, organization, implementation, management, and evaluation of professional training and adult education programs in Lifelong Education to meet the needs related to the modernization and development of Greek entrepreneurship, with a particular focus on the commercial enterprise.

  • At the same time, KAELE participates on behalf of ESEE in the social dialogue concerning Education and Training, as well as related issues, such as shaping the needs of the labor market.

  • Finally, highlighting its practical commitment to the provision of high-quality services, KAELE has received certification of the Quality Management System according to the ELOT ΕΝ ISO 9001: 2015 standard and a Proficiency Management certificate according to ELOT 1429:2008 79/ΔΕ/2012.
